A contract is officially awarded to Suburban Rails to construct a skate park in Kirksville.  Five companies submitted proposals and two were seriously considered by officials and skaters.

Suburban Rails is known for constructing Bill Gates personal skate park and right now they're working on a large scale park in China.

Community Services Director Steve Bell said Monday night he has waited 18 months to make the announcement.
“I am very pleased that our funding goals have almost been reached with the pledges we've exceeded them.  And we are of course pursuing those pledges to get the cash in hand,” says Bell.

Bell says the skaters wanting the park played a large part in the company choosing to build the park.  The contract is $120,000.  The money comes from fundraising, grants, donations, and the City of Kirksville.
