Mike Huckabee visits Columbia College
Columbia College hosted a visit today from former Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
Huckabee was in town for the 2008 Schiffman Ethics in Society Lecture being held in Launer Auditorium on Columbia’s cmapus.
In a press conference earlier Thrusday afternoon, he addressed the question that is on the nation's mind, his position on becoming vice president.
Huckabee stated to the press, "Let's face it. If a person runs for President you certainly believe you can do that job. If your asked to be vice president you certainly believe you can do that job. I haven't been asked, it's not something that people go and campaign for but it’s not something people turn down either."
Huckabee also commented on the potential for Lieutenant Governor of New York David Patterson to replace Governor Eliot Spitzer, after Spitzer’s legal matters with prostitution. In 1996 Huckabee stepped up to the plate as Governor of Arkansas after Jim Guy Tucker’s legal matters made him resign.
