QUEEN CITY, MO. -- Allegations of child abuse are surrounding an area school.
We received e-mails and letters from concerned parents regarding alleged child abuse at Schuyler County School so we put our Fact Finder team to work to set the record straight.
Schuyler County Superintendent Bob Elder confirmed that there has been a report of abuse by a school employee and there is an ongoing investigation by the Department of Social Services
“We take all reports concerning the welfare of our students at Schuyler County R-1 very seriously and if we do receive reports from the children's division of the state of Missouri we work with them to investigate and take appropriate action to ensure that the welfare of students is at the highest position possible,” said Elder
School officials would not say how long the investigation has been going on. According to parents the school employee is still working at the school, the Superintendent would not confirm that, he also would not say if formal charges have been or will be filed.
