OTTUMWA, IOWA -- As part of their ongoing needs analysis, the Ottumwa Economic Development Corporation has set up a survey to see what residents of Ottumwa and Wapello County want and need when it comes to fiber optics and broadband technology.

The survey will be up until December 21 and includes a few questions on your internet provider, speed and satisfaction.

It is for both residents and business owners in the area and is an important part of determining what the technology needs of the area are.

"We want to try and find out as much information as possible from the public as we're doing our needs analysis because this whole project is really based on what the public wants, what the public needs, what businesses want, what businesses need, so that ultimately, at the end of the day, we want to be able to provide the best technology infrastructure we can for Ottumwa and Wapello county to help retain and attract quality jobs, provide better educational opportunities, better healthcare opportunities, so that's what this is all about," said David Barajas, Executive Director of the Ottumwa EDC.

The survey is available in both English and Spanish and if there is more than one person or internet outlet in a household or business, multiple people can complete the survey.
