KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A familiar restaurant is making a return to Kirksville after quite a long absence.

Hardee’s is coming back to the Baltimore Strip under new ownership.

A sign went up Friday stating the store is reopening in August.

The fast food chain will be located in the former Hardee's building that has been vacant on south Baltimore Street for several years now.

Kirksville Codes and Planning Director Brad Selby told KTVO Friday afternoon that he is not sure yet who the new owner is.

He said, at this point, no one has applied for any remodeling permits from the city.

KTVO’s phone calls to Hardee's corporate office were not returned as of Friday night.
