KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A well-known Heartland Mexican restaurant is expanding!

La Pachanga Mexican Restaurant on Baltimore Street in Kirksville is opening a new location.

The old Red Rooster Restaurant in La Plata will soon become La Pachanga.

Rafael Ramirez, the manager of the restaurant tells us he and his father, who owns the restaurant, is finishing the paperwork to apply for a license.

"We get customers from Atlanta, La Plata, Milard and Macon," said Ramirez. So he's sure the new opening in La Plata will be perfect.

Ramirez will still run the Kirksville location and the new one in La Plata. He tells us with the help of 8-10 other workers, he's sure the new restaurant will satisfy customers in La Plata and surrounding areas.

He is still unclear exactly when the new restaurant will open. When the paperwork is completed and processed, they will have a definite date.
