KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The Adair County Humane Society is looking for donations for their campaign "Be a Pal-Prevent a Litter." There is an interesting twist this year which might give you more incentive to donate.

“A local donor is going to match dollar for dollar all donations up to $1,000 before Valentine's Day. So show your love to the animals by February 14th. The campaign is in its 4th year. We've done the March prevent a litter campaign. In 3 years we've spay and neutered 500 animals so we say we kept 500 animals into to turning into 2,500 animals so just the effort to spay and neuter the local animals is a big deal.”  Said Bridgete Thomas

Grant money that is usually allocated for this campaign might not be offered this year, so donations are more important than ever and donating has never been easier.

“You can donate online now that's a relatively new thing. We've got donation buttons both on the web page which is www.adairhumane.org. Also on our blog spot which is www.preventalitter.blogspot.com/. So you can donate. It's safe it's easy. It's through pay pal. You can use a pay pal account or pay through credit card. So that's easy you can also pay a check to P.O. box 481 at Kirksville Missouri or you can drop it by the shelter” She said.

The "Be a Pal-Save a Litter" program has been a valuable resource in the past. Last year, 140 $50 certificates for spaying or neutering were given away in just one day. The links to donate are below.
