JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Sergeant Kevin C. Kelley has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant and designated assistant director of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO.
Kelley joined the Patrol on July 1, 1994, as a member of the 67th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 8, Marion and Ralls counties. He worked in Zone 1, Macon, Zone 10, Moberly, and Zone 5, Kirksville, prior to being promoted to corporal in 2003. As a corporal, he was designated assistant zone supervisor and assigned to Troop B, Zone 3, Linn and Chariton counties. In 2008, Kelley was promoted to sergeant, designated zone supervisor, and assigned to Zone 10, Randolph and Monroe counties. Later in 2008, he transferred to Troop B, Zone 12, to the newly created position of commercial vehicle enforcement trooper, where he supervised commercial vehicle operations in the Troop B, Macon, area. He transferred to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, in 2009.
Lieutenant Kelley grew up in Brookfield, Mo. and graduated from Brookfield High School in 1988. He graduated from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO, in 1992, with a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice.
