A Southeast Iowa man is in jail accused of having sexual contact with his own child.

Timothy Butler, 38 of Centerville, is charged with six felony counts of lascivious acts with a child, six felony counts of incest and six misdemeanor counts of child endangerment.

According to Centerville Police Chief Tom Demry, the charges are the result of an investigation by his department. During the investigation, officers found that the defendant had at least six illegal sexual contacts with his minor child between November first and December 29th of this year.

Butler is being held in the Appanoose County Jail under $21,000 cash only bond.
