UNIONVILLE, MO -- The Putnam County R-1 School District recently recognized Trey Ream as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month for November.  The acknowledgement included the presentation of a certificate, denoting his honor as one of the top high school vocational students, as chosen by the vocational faculty at Putnam County R-1 High School.  Trey will also be honored at a local Rotary meeting.

Trey Ream, is the son/daughter of Leslie and Bradley Ream of Unionville, MO, and is a senior at Putnam County R-1 High School.  Trey is active in multiple school activities. He has been a member of FFA for 4 years where he also serves as chapter Sentinel.  He is also a four-year member of FBLA, Student Council and SADD.  Trey is also an active member of Interact and DECA and has played Varsity Basketball and Baseball all four years of High School.

Outside of school, Trey is involved in the First Christian Church.

Kathy Rhodes, Business and Marketing Instructor at Putnam County R-1 High School nominated Trey for CTE student of the month. “Trey is a committed student who always works well in class.  He is consistently a main contributor to class discussions and puts forth effort on every assignment.  Trey is one of those students who looks ahead and visualizes how the concepts being learned in class will be applied to his future.”

The Putnam County School District feels that these monthly rewards reinforce the importance of Career and Technical Education in our schools.  Learning a skilled trade for craft enables many capable students to enter the workforce and establish successful careers.  Vocational instruction also helps the college bound student succeed in various avenues of study.

All monthly winners are considered for the Career and Technical Education Student of the Year Award, which will be announced at the Putnam County R-1 Awards Ceremony in May.
