Lois Geraldine Parsons - Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home

Lois Geraldine Parsons, 97, of Unionville, MO passed away on October 16, 2012 at the Nelson Manor in Newton, IA where she had been a resident for 4 ½ years.
Lois Parsons was born on May 3, 1912 near Powersville, MO. She was the daughter of William Andrew Harbert and Lucy Lillian (Clapper) Harbert. Lois graduated from Unionville High School in 1933 then married Clemen Clyde Parsons on September 18, 1940. Clemen preceded her in death on May 2, 2007. With the exception of the last 4 ½ years, Lois had lived her entire life in Putnam County. She was a homemaker who derived great joy from her family and was a long time member of the First Christian Church in Unionville, MO.
Lois Parsons is survived by a son, Dr. Gary Parsons and wife Kay of Newton, IA and a daughter, Ronda Trainor and husband Patrick of Bettendorf, IA. Lois is also survived by grandsons, Brad Parsons, Dr. Kevin Parsons and wife Crystal, Jeremy Oden, Justin Hartman and girlfriend Jenn Thompson, Josh Hartman and girlfriend April Myrick, and a granddaughter, Kaitlin Trainor. Lois’s surviving great grandchildren are Connor Oden, Kaitlynn Parsons, Alli Parsons, and Silas Hartman.
In addition to her parents and husband Lois was preceded in death by her brothers, Don and Lewis Harbert and sisters, Neita Kunkin and Vera Couchman.
Memorials are suggested to Nelson Manor, Putnam County Care Center, or the Deacon’s Fund of First Presbyterian Church and may be entrusted to the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
Lois’s Funeral Services will be on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11:00am at the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO with visitation beginning one hour prior to her service.
