KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Police are investigating at a local restaurant after a customer claims to have found a pill in her hamburger meat.

We were told Tuesday evening, the person entered the Kirksville Dairy Queen and ordered a meal. That's when she allegedly discovered the pill.

Kirksville police did go to the restaurant to fill out a report.

KTVO spoke with the manager of Dairy Queen and she tells us they are working with their corporate office, their supplier and the Kirksville Police Department to investigate the case.

We asked the manager if the pill was sent to a lab for analysis, but she would not comment.

We were told the manager was advised by her lawyer and insurance company to address nothing further.

We'll try to stay on top of this situation and bring you the latest as we get more information.
