KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A local music department celebrated the holiday season with the sounds of Christmas music.

The Kirksville High School Band and choir performed in the middle school gym for a free holiday concert.

The concert featured the Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Jazz Band and Concert Band.

Hundreds packed the gym as the bands and choirs performed several traditional holiday selections including "Winter Wonderland," "Jingle Bells" and "Santa's Comin' to Town!"

At least fifty vocalists and seventy instrumentalists used their musical talents to produce a melodious sound that rang effortlessly.

At the end of the concert all the bands and choirs presented a combined piece of the soulful "Hallelujah Chorus."

On Monday, December 17, the Kirksville Middle School Band and choir will have their concert at 7 p.m.
