MEMPHIS, MO -- The Scotland County Memorial Hospital has finished around $10 million of renovations including an outpatient area.

One of the main additions is the new Wound Care Clinic which has been open just over a month.

"Often times within weeks of applying the appropriate therapy and doing the appropriate follow up, appropriate dressing changes then you can get these wounds to heal. So we have an aging population... This hospital is attached to a nursing home. There are a lot of pressure ulcers that happen, bed sores they can be called," said Jeff Davis, Scotland County family doctor.

The clinic is designed to treat patients with chronic or slow healing wounds. The hospital currently has around 20 patients weekly for treatment.
