The Northeast Regional Medical Center hosted a Get Healthy. Stay Healthy. event to promote women's health.

The event gathered over 100 women to the BSU at Truman State University, to empower them on how to be mindful of the food they eat.

The empowerment brought Michelle Robin, D.C., an international speaker and author from Kansas City, Mo., who is the found of Your Wellness Connection.

"The purpose of gathering today for these women and just in this community the next few days is to really empower people to take control of their health," Robin said.

Robin says women must be active and have an active mind in staying healthy.

"So many times we're looking outside for the reasons to get well and I really believe , after spending three decades around wellness, its really an inside job."
