BEVIER, MO. -- Firefighters are investigating after a fire engulfs a home in Bevier, Mo.

We sent a reporter to the scene Friday, and fire crews were still there hitting hot spots and you could see slight billows of smoke coming from the rubbish.

Firefighters were called to the home of Brian and Audra Shelmadine at 100 Jefferson Street, in Bevier just after 9 Thursday night.

Fire Chief David Coleman tells us when crews got there, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Bevier Fire, Macon Rural Fire, and Callao Rural Fire all responded. We're told the fire was under control around 1 a.m. Friday.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated. The Shelmadines were not home when the fire broke out.
