MT. PLEASANT, IOWA -- Authorities have found the body of a woman missing since February.

Sheriff Rich McNamee of the Henry County Sheriff's Office tells KTVO they received a call from Hancock County, Illinois about a body found in the Mississippi River. The call came in around 3 in the afternoon on Wednesday.

After an autopsy in Bloomington, Ill. Thursday, it was confirmed that the body is that of Teresa Bruegge, 45, of Mt. Pleasant. The preliminary results indicate she died of drowning.

Bruegge had been reported missing to the Henry County Sheriff's Office on February 15th, after her vehicle was found at Faulkner’s Access in Rural Mt. Pleasant.
