Organizers say that they want to reach out to all professionals, being that they want to make the group as inclusive as possible.

“I really want this to be a group that is inclusive. It is all about making Ottumwa better and building those connections,” said Megan Framke with Ottumwa Economic Development Corporation. “One of our main goals is for this organization to provide people the opportunity to meet people that maybe they have not met before in the community, and open up doors and pathways for them to advance and be better community members.”

Framke says that interested professionals can join by messaging the group on their Facebook page, or by attending one of their upcoming meetings.

The next meeting for the Ottumwa Young Professionals will be taking place on February 12 at the Little Bake Shop in downtown Ottumwa. The meeting is apart of the “Soup and the Scoop” event sponsored by Main Street Ottumwa.
