KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A northeast Missouri man facing a pair of felony charges in connection with a brutal assault has had his case moved up to circuit court.

Paul Hawn, 47, of Kirksville, is charged with First-degree domestic assault and forcible sodomy following the December incident.

Hawn remains in the Adair County Jail on $150,000.00 cash only bond.

According to court papers, Hawn's victim suffered numerous injuries as a result of the attack.

Investigators say Hawn also forced the victim to perform oral sex on him during the assault.

Following Wednesday’s preliminary hearing, Associate Judge Kristie Swaim found sufficient evidence to move the case to circuit court.

Hawn is scheduled for arraignment in Adair County Circuit Court on Feb. 4.
