Man finds different use for vehicle, ends up in jail

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Kirksville man is in jail on a felony charge following an incident over the weekend.

Robert Helton, 21, is charged with second degree assault in connection with an incident in which he allegedly tried to hit someone with a car.

According to court papers, the incident began when Helton attempted to hit the victim with his car in the parking lot of a Kirksville fast food restaurant. He missed the victim and hit the car. He then followed the vehicle around portions of Kirksville, striking the vehicle once more from behind before leaving the area.

Helton is being held in the Adair County jail under $25,000 cash only bond.
