MACON, MO. -- A night of intoxication ends with one man jailed facing a felony burglary charge.
  
Travis Newland, 24, of Macon, is charged with first degree burglary and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.
    
He is being held in the Macon County jail under $20,000 cash only bond.

According to court papers, Newland is accused of forcing his way into an apartment where a 13-year-old boy was at home. The victim told police he smelled intoxicants on the suspect and he was slurring his words. The victim managed to push Newland out of the apartment before locking the door.  
    
Newland was found by officers, passed out near the apartment.
    
Travis Newland's first court appearance is set for December 20 in Macon County Associate Circuit Court.
