UNIONVILLE, MISSOURI -- A Putnam county man is facing a sex related felony charge, following an investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and Kirksville Police Department.

Kenneth Shumate, 32, of Unionville, is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor. He is being held under $50,000 cash only bond.

According to court papers, an online investigation by the Kirksville Regional Computer Crimes Unit identified a computer which was offering some files that appeared to contain child pornography.

When officers arrived the residence, Shumate gave permission for a search of his computer. When the computer was searched, numerous pictures were discovered of what appeared to be juvenile females, naked and posing in sexual poses. Also found on the computer were pictures of an adult female and a juvenile male, both naked.

Putnam County Sheriff Jason Knight told KTVO, the investigation of the incident is continuing and further charges are possible.
