KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Great news for the Adair County Humane Society!

After weeks of voting the people have spoken.

Director of the Adair County Humane Society Jackie Eaton won the $10,000 grant from Ameren Missouri.

Ameren Missouri had a statewide campaign to recognize non profit organizations that make a difference in the community.

Eaton was the only finalist from a rural community and the only animal organization of the 10 finalist.

She said the money will help them get air conditioning and do some of the carpentry work on the building.
