MACON, MO -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol announces effective September 1, 2012, Motor Vehicle Inspector III Larry F. Kuhn retired after serving nearly 13 years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. MVI III Kuhn began working for the Patrol on October 1, 1999, and spent his entire career working out of the Troop B Headquarters in Macon. MVI III Kuhn was promoted to Motor Vehicle Inspector II on April 1, 2000, and to Motor Vehicle Inspector III on October 1, 2002.
MVI Kuhn was born in Independence, MO, and his family later lived in Pueblo, CO; and Garnett, KS, where he graduated from high school. In 1968, he moved to Macon, and worked 20 years at the Prairie Hill Coal Mine (owned by Associated Electric) in Prairie Hill, MO. After the mine closed, Larry worked for five years at Sydenstricker Truck and Tractor in Macon.
Larry and his wife, Anne, have three grown children: Bryan Kuhn, of Columbia, MO; Debbie Bisch, of Callao, MO; and Dan Wood, of Omaha, NE. They also have eight grandchildren.
