More than 75 percent of 12-to 17-year-olds own a cell phone according to the Pew Research Center.

According to a survey by the National Consumers League, nearly six out of 10 (60%) of the parents with children aged 8 to 12 give their tweens cell phones.

This is the list of cell phone etiquette tips for kids:

1. Turn it off

2. Put People First

3. Don’t be a tell-all

4. Don’t make your cell phone a yell phone

5. Be in the “now”
