Doris G. Bulechek, 94, of Queen City passed away late Sunday night (August 5, 2012) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of George and Edith (Klump) Elliott, she was born March 6, 1918, in Oxford, Iowa. On October 3, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Anthony Frank Bulechek by Reverend E.E. Voight. To this union five children were born, three sons and two daughters.

Doris is survived by her children, Kenneth Anthony Bulechek and wife Karen of West Grove, IA, Robert George Bulechek and wife Arlene of Greentop, MO, Ronald Eugene Bulechek and wife Virginia Sue of Queen City, MO, Nancy Sanchez and husband Tony of Moline, IL, and Christine Elizabeth James of Corpus Christi, TX; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law, Delores Parson and husband George of Iowa City, IA, and Anna Bulechek of Iowa City, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anthony on September 4, 1985, a sister, Elizabeth Gabler, two brothers, and four great grandsons.

Doris grew up in Oxford, Iowa and attended the rural Oxford schools. After her marriage they lived in Solon, Iowa where they farmed. In 1961 they moved to the Downing area where they continued to farm. In 1966 Doris started working at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville where she worked until she retired in 1980. In 1988 Doris moved to Queen City.

She was a very active member of the OAT's organization and was volunteer of the year several times. She had also been treasurer. Doris loved to bake, do gardening, flowers, and her Hummingbirds.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (August 11, 2012) at Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in northeast Schuyler County, MO.

Pallbearers will be Ron Bulechek, Anthony Sanchez, Mikel Shaffer, Ashley Bulechek, Gooch Sanchez, Robert Bulechek, Kurt Bulechek and Kevin Bulechek. Honorary bearer will be Kenneth Anthony Bulechek Jr.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Dooley Funeral Home.
