Max G. Kearse
1942 – 2012
Max passed away peacefully at his home with his wife Donna and his boys by his side.
Max was born south of Molten in Appanoose County at his home. He grew up next to the Wabash tracks and had an avid love of trains. He graduated high school from Lancaster in 1960 and worked as a disc jockey at KIRX in Kirksville. He then joined the Navy in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1970. From working on computers on the aircraft carriers, he came to enjoy them and later, started his own successful computer business called Above and Beyond Systems.
Max attended Iowa State University, Northeast State University and them graduated from Truman in Kirksville, Missouri.
He married Donna Hardwick in 1981 in the Salt Lake City Temple and they had five sons together, Christopher, Andrew, Daniel, Zackary and Benjamin. Max and Donna were happily married for 31 years.
Of Max’s many hobbies, some of these were trains, which he included his grandsons on, bird watching with his wife, genealogy, computers and photography.
His parents, Herbert and Loreeta Kimbrall Kearse and his older brother Jack R. Kearse preceded Max in death.
He is survived by his wife Donna Hardwick Kearse, their seven sons, Kyle (Stacy) Caraway and family, Jeremy Kearse and family, Christopher (Randi) Kearse and family, Andrew (Elizabeth) Kearse and family, Daniel, Zackary and Benjamin. His brother Darrell L. Kearse, nieces and nephews and 11 grandchildren also survive him.
Graveside service with military honors will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (July 18, 2012) at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville, Missouri.
