Lois (Davis) Myers - Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home

Lois (Davis) Myers of Kirksville, wife of Allen Myers passed away on July 6, 2012, to Jesus Christ her personal Savior and her heavenly family. She was surrounded by her family at the time. Lois was born April 29, 1921, in Unionville, Missouri.
    
The only child of Jesse and Emma (Summers) Davis. She attended school in Unionville and graduated in 1939.
    
She was an active member of the Baptist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher and pianist for over 30 years as a young person and adult. She was equally talented as a violinist.
    
She was married to Allen Myers on September 21, 1940. She was blessed with 71 years of marriage. After her marriage they resided in Worthington, New Franklin, and Booneville, Missouri. When Allen returned from Italy at the end of World War II they moved to Winterset, Iowa. In 1951 they moved to Kirksville with their three children, Carol (Myers) Craig, Roger Myers (Alice) and Kathy (Myers) Ward (Jack) who survive.
    
As well as grandchildren, Jennifer (Craig) Hodges (Brian) of St. Charles, MO, Kristi Young of Ft Myers, FL, Kip Myers and Kirk Myers of Brooklyn, NY, Aaron Young of Burbank, CA; great grandson, Zach Hodges of St. Charles, MO; step grandchildren, Melissa (Troy) Fergerson, Shawn Wilkinson (Samaneh) of Kansas City, MO, Julie and Jacquie Ward of Columbia, MO; step grandchildren, Griffin and Maya Fergerson, Laila Wilkinson, and dear cousin, Mildren (Halley) Horn of Tucson, AZ; nieces and nephews, Linda (Myers) Robison, Gary, and Richard Myers. She was blessed to have many cousins on Allen's side to love and have as family.
    
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Emma Davis, grandsons, Lance Allen Young and Jeffrey T. Craig, a brother-in-law, Ray Myers and wife Lavon.
    
Lois was in Avon Sales for over 30 years. In the eighties she was employed by the Northeast Regional Medical Center and Gutensohn Clinic. Lois was devoted to her family and was a wonderful caretaker. She loved to cook for her family and friends.
    
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
    
Pallbearers will be Kip Myers, Kirk Myers, Aaron Young, Zach Hodges, Shawn Wilkinson, Brian Hodges, and Troy Fergerson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Twin Pines Adult Care Center Residents Christmas Fund or the First Christian Church of Kirksville, Missouri.
