Graydon “Junior” Francis Berry - Travis-Noe Funeral Home

Graydon “Junior” Francis Berry, 85, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (June 27, 2012) at Kirksville Manor Care Center.

The son of Graydon Francis and Stella (Marshall) Berry Sr., he was born October 8, 1926 in Wichita Falls, Texas. On December 13, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri, Graydon was united in marriage to Doris Carter.

Graydon is survived by his wife Doris of sixty-four years; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald and Valarie Berry of Lancaster, MO, Ronald Berry of Kirksville, MO and David and Karen Berry of Kirksville, MO; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; four step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bobby Berry.

Graydon moved to Kirksville, Missouri, in 1938 and received his education in the Mt. Carmel rural school and Kirksville public schools. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Graydon farmed in the Nind community a number of years until retiring.

His hobbies included wood working, making wine and collecting arrow heads.

Graydon was a member of Kirksville V.F.W. and a member of the Yarrow United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (July 3, 2012) with family receiving friends one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. The service will be officiated by Pastor Debbie Nothdurft. Interment will follow the service at Yarrow Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Berry, Ammanuel Berry, Tim Berry, Troy Christman, Trevor Christman and Harley Berry.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Graydon Berry may be made to the Yarrow Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
