Mary Myers, 89, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.  She had been a resident there for about seven months.
 
Mary Jane (Triplett) Myers was born in Green City, MO, on August 7, 1922, the daughter of Fred and Laura Alice (Nichols) Triplett, who preceded her in death.  On September 7, 1938, she married Harold Myers in Unionville, MO, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1996.
 
Mary was a homemaker while her children were at home, being a farmer’s wife and mother to her children.  She raised a big garden, canning the produce, and feeding her family. She and Harold lived on the farm from 1946 until 1984.  After the children were grown, Mary worked at the garment factory in Unionville until it closed, as a cook at Sticker Hospital in Kirksville, and at Banquet Foods in Milan until her retirement. 
 
Mary loved to travel with a tour bus, having visited almost all the states. She was an avid reader who also liked to do genealogy.  She also liked to paint art work.  Mary attended First Baptist Church in Unionville after she moved to town.
 
Mary is survived by a son, Stephen Myers and his wife Margaret, and a daughter, Karen Smith and her husband Daniel, all of Unionville.  Grandchildren are Bryan Smith, David Smith, Scott Smith, Tammy Davis, Carol Knight, and Lisa Campbell. Mary had 12 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
 
Others who preceded Mary in death are a daughter, Eloise Elam and her husband Bill and an infant brother, Dale Allen Triplett, and an infant sister, Barbara Ellen Triplett.
 
Funeral services for Mary Myers will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 2:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the West Liberty Cemetery, west of Unionville, MO.
 
Memorials are suggested to the West Liberty Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO  63565.
