Betty Louise (Crandall) Osborn
1944 – 2012

Betty Louise Osborn, 68, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (May 8, 2012) at the LaPlata Nursing Home in LaPlata, Missouri.

The daughter of Orland and Lula (Aldridge) Crandall, she was born January 14, 1944 in Queen City, Missouri. On April 18, 1959, Betty was united in marriage to Kenneth Murel Osborn who preceded her in death on November 25, 1994.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jay Osborn, and one sister, Dorothy Wabel.

Betty is survived by one son, Rex Osborn of Brashear, MO; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and David Snyder of Greentop, MO and Marsha and Ethan Wright of Memphis, MO; one sister, Letha Leutung of Columbia, MO; three brothers, Gene Crandall of Kirksville, MO, Kenneth Crandall of Brashear, MO and Vancil Crandall of Higginsville, MO; five grandchildren, Christopher Vose, Andrea Valentine, Shaye Wright, Addie Wright and Kasey Lay; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Valentine, Kayden Valentine and Micah Vose, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Betty attended high school in the Brashear pubic schools. She resided most of her life in Kirksville as a homemaker who loved cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty will be remembered for her love of family and her wonderful cooking.

Betty was a member of the First Assembly of God in Kirksville, where she had served as W.M. leader. She had also served as a Girl Scout Leader.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday (May 11, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Robert Fredricks presiding. Interment will follow the service at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday (May 11, 2012) in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Crandall, Ryan Crandall, Dustin Crandall, Cory Crandall, Kelly Robinson, Jared Holt, Nathan Kelsey and Matt Snyder. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Betty Osborn may be made to the First Assembly of God Church of Kirksville. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
