Three teens accused in break-in

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Press Release from Ottumwa Police Department

On September 15, at 10:56 am, the Ottumwa Police Department received a call from a female, living at #1 Park Lane Ottumwa, reporting two male subjects were breaking into her residence.  The subjects fled the scene prior to officers arriving at the residence. Officers located one subject in the area matching the description of one of three suspects.  Officers arrested and charged Matthew John Beliel,19, of Ottumwa with Aiding and Abetting/Burglary 2nd.  

The investigation into the incident resulted in the arrest of two other subjects a few hours later. Those arrested were:    Brandon Michael Spurgeon,18, of Ottumwa and Mikel David Hager, 17, also of Ottumwa. Both were charged with Aiding and Abetting/Burglary 2nd Degree.

Spurgeon and Beliel are currently being held in the Wapello County Jail on $10,000 bond. Hager has been placed in detention.
