KIRKSVILLE, MO -- More then 300 job seekers stopped by the NEMO Fairgrounds Tuesday afternoon for the semiannual job fair.

The Missouri Career Center along with the Kirksville Chamber of Commerce and K-REDI teamed up to put on the event. For those looking for a new job or a change in careers, the event was a great opportunity for employers and job seekers to meet.

There were 49 employers ranging from manufacturing, health services, education, communications, and the retail industries taking resumes and applications. Some employees were even hired on the spot.

The NEMO Job Fair was a great success and continues to be a valuable resource to the community.

“We have been preparing for this for the last few weeks. There have also been workshops at the career center to prepare people for the job fair and employers have been signing up for quite some time. It’s just a great benefit for the community. I can’t express that enough,” Missouri Career Center Workforce Development Supervisor Cathy Collop said.

New for this fall’s career fair was the addition of the Talify Agency. Talify is a database that matches employers and job seekers, and ranks job seekers on several things including soft skills and personality traits.
