Richard “Dick” Osborn of Kirksville passed away Sunday (September 30, 2012) at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

Dick was born September 25, 1939 in Bloomington, IL, the son of Ervin C. and Leota Sawyer Osborn. Dick was united in marriage to Karen Coy on March 21, 1993 in Kirksville who survives. He is also survived by one son, Tony Osborn and wife Gina of Winfield, MO; two stepsons, Mike Parsons and wife Paula of Queens Creek, AZ, Jeff Parsons of Milan, MO; one step daughter, Debra Smith and husband Jonathan of Centralia, MO; one brother, Harold Osborn and wife Becky of Kirksville; one sister, Phyllis Kalin of Galesburg, IL; seven grandchildren, Travis Osborn, Cody Smith, Lorenda Parsons, Craig Parsons, Shelly Parsons, Tyler Parsons and Jordan Parsons; one great grandchild, Kinsley Kay Western; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dick moved to the Milan area with his parents at an early age and in 1955 the family moved to Kirksville. Dick attended school in Milan and Kirksville graduating from Kirksville Senior High School in 1957. After his graduating he worked construction for several years. In 1975 he joined the staff of KTVO working in sales. In 2000 after 25 years with KTVO he retired.

Dick was a member of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church, a 50 year member of Adair Lodge #366 A.F. & A.M. and was a past member of the La Plata Jaycee and served as president in 1970. He loved to travel and spend time with his family. He loved his “Osborn” reunions each year.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (October 3, 2012) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Jackson officiating. Musical selections will be “Take my Hand Precious Lord” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Interment will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens.

Bearers will be Henry Knuth, Don Knuth, Ed Buck, W.R. Buck, Frankie McIntyre and James (Jim) Peavler

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the

Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
