Following the trend of Hollywood actors and actresses trying their hand on the stage, Ashlee Simpson has announced that she's headed for Broadway.
The "Pieces of Me" songstress has signed on to play Roxie Hart in "Chicago" for a six-week run starting in December.
And this isn't Simpson's first run-in with Hart- she played the same character in a London West End production back in 2006.
This good news comes at a crucial time for Ashlee, who recently got booted from her "Melrose Place" gig. A source on the CW set revealed, "She was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible. She's the worst actress, but nobody will tell her."
