The red, white and blue festival continued Saturday afternoon with the annual parade around downtown Kirksville.

It may have rained on their parade, but hundreds lined the streets to enjoy parade entires and homemade floats by local businesses, volunteer organizations, and churches.

If you missed out on Saturday’s activities, there's still more to do Sunday, including an ice cream social, band concert, and patriotic service.

Fireworks a Waste

I think the town should outlaw fireworks like they've done in bigger cities. Neighbors kept me up until after midnight on the 4th & 5th. People are idiots to think blowing up stuff and wasting that kind of money is "fun". It's loud, irritating and a menace to many people. I can do without it.

It was absolutely ridiculous how spaced out the parade was. Especially the Crossings intery.
