KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Mary Immaculate Home and School held its autumn auction Sunday afternoon at the NEMO Fairgrounds. This was the 16th year for the event that raises money for activities, programs and supplies for the church and school.
“There's lots of themed baskets, there's games for children, there's wonderful soups and sandwiches and homemade pies. And we have a silent auction as well as a live auction. Which kind of gets a lot of bidding generated. We have families bidding against families and sometimes, people within the same family are bidding and don't even know it,” says Mary Immaculate School Principal Janie Theobald.
Donated items in the auction ranged from baked goods and gift certificates, to a computer and a private plane ride over Kirksville.
Theobald says she appreciates the support of the community and thanks all of those who continue to lend a hand. She tells us it's always nice to see families that have long graduated still be active in the parish community.
