KIRKSVILLE, MO -- You may have noticed a new thrift store in downtown Kirksville.

The crossing thrift store on South Franklin Street has been open for a month now. It's an extension of The Crossing church, and the revenue from the store goes to the church's benevolence fund.

Robin Earnhart, the manager of the store, said the church has seen a lot of people in need, and this is just one way for them to give back.

"This is our way of helping the community in being able to get a lot of things that they need," Earnhart said. "We try to keep things reasonable just so people can get the things they need for their family."

Since it's the holiday season, Earnhart tells us they've seen business growing. The store takes donations of clothing, home decor and other items during its regular business hours.

The official grand opening is set for December 8, 2012.
