DOWDS, IA -- The historic Mt. Moriah M.E. Church, one and half miles north of Douds, Iowa, on 120th St., will host an Annual Community Worship service in conjunction with the annual Douds Field Day/Douds-Leando Alumni weekend on Sunday, June 24th beginning at 10:00AM. A social time, with breakfast refreshments, will precede the service beginning at 9:00AM.

Leading the services will be the Rev. Phil Campbell of Bethel Worship Center.  Special musical will be provided during the service.  Everyone is invited to this unique service!

The Mt. Moriah Church is a former Methodist Country Church built in 1892, replacing two former churches that were built on this site in 1846 and 1867.  The church closed in 1958.  It was acquired and completely restored in 1997 by the Douds Historic Preservation Assn., Inc. and has been the location for a number of weddings, funerals, and special services since that time.
