KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Heartland Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will be celebrating 39 years of service in Kirksville and the surrounding communities this year. During this time directly or indirectly every person served by the nutrition sites, nursing homes, Red Cross blood donor services, food banks, library, Tax Credit Program, Life Check Program, Medicare Counseling Program, school classes where volunteers assist, Chamber of Commerce, area churches, City of Kirksville, NE Missouri Medical Center, and area museums have benefited from the services of RSVP volunteers.
A 39th Annual RSVP Recognition Banquet will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Moose Lodge in Kirksville. Brunch will begin at 10:30am, followed by award presentations to Heartland RSVP volunteers for their years and hours of service. Persons and businesses giving support to the program during the past year will also be recognized. The public is welcome to attend. Reservations should be made immediately and tickets picked up at the RSVP office, upstairs in Bank Midwest, 201 N Elson. Phone 665-8314. Tickets are free to all active RSVP volunteers. For all others the cost is $8.00 in advance or $9.00 at the door.
