MACON, MO -- Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, is pleased to announce the following Troop B promotion and transfer.

On February 1, 2012, Trooper Doug E. Siegfried was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 6, which serves the citizens of Clark and Scotland counties.  Siegfried was appointed to the Patrol on June 29, 2003.  After graduating from the Patrol Academy he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 4, Putnam and Sullivan counties.  On September 18, 2005, he transferred to Zone 6, Clark and Scotland counties.  He is a native of Nauvoo, Illinois, and graduated from Nauvoo-Colusa High School.  Siegfried holds a bachelor's of science degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.  He and his wife, Kristina (Parker) have three children.

On January 29, 2012, Trooper Sean P. Smeltser transferred from Zone 1, Macon and Shelby counties, to Zone 5, Adair and Schuyler counties.  Smeltser was appointed to the Patrol on June 29, 2003.  After graduating from the Patrol Academy he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 4, Putnam and Sullivan counties.  On August 20, 2006, he transferred to Zone 5, Adair and Schuyler counties, and on August 1, 2010, he transferred to Zone 1, Macon and Shelby counties. He is a native of Hannibal, Missouri, and graduated from Hannibal High School.  He holds an associate's of arts degree from Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa.
