Cheryl Lee Cleeton
1949 – 2013

Cheryl Lee Cleeton, 64, formerly of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (February 12, 2013) at the Willow Care Nursing Facility in Hannibal, Missouri.

She was born January 20, 1949 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Iris Cleeton.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Iris of Hannibal, MO, formerly of Kirksville; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Vicky Cleeton of Ewing, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Jerry Wilhoit of Hannibal, MO, as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Douglas Cleeton.

Cheryl was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1968. She was employed at Northeast Missouri State University from 1969 to 1973. Cheryl loved children and enjoyed babysitting in her home a number of years.

Cheryl was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Kirksville, where she served a deacon, taught Sunday school, helped with the children and coordinated luncheons for funerals.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday (February 15, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Michael McCormack officiating.

Family will receive friends on Saturday (February 15, 2013) for one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Interment will follow the service at the Ownbey Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Cheryl Cleeton may be made to the James E. Cary Cancer Center. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
