The K-Life National Board of Directors recently selected Kevin Harrison as the Area Director of the Year. The honor was presented to Harrison at the annual conference held in Branson. Harrison serves as Kirksville K-Life area director.

K-Life is currently working with over 200 area youth to build positive relationships through a variety of activities such as weekly clubs for middle school, high school and bi-weekly meetings for those in K-5th grade. The youth are also involved in small group Bible studies, mission trips, and a variety of other events that allow the kids to grow in their faith and have lots of fun in the process. Most recently under Harrison's direction the K-Life staff has created outreach programs in conjunction with the Bruce Normile Juvenile Center and Preferred Family Healthcare.

In addition to Harrison's award, Kirksville K-Life was recognized for finishing among the top four chapters in the nation for their number of hours devoted to youth programing. There are 36 K-Life Chapters in 13 states. Kirksville K-Life relies heavily on the 50 plus Truman volunteers who offer their time and service to working with the area youth and 4 Truman interns who live on the K-Life site located at 1200 S. Jamison. Kirksville K-Life is totally funded by dollars raised locally through donations from K-Life parents and friends and 3 annual fundraisers.

Harrison is a graduate of Kirksville High School and Truman State University. He attended K-Life as a youth and then became a volunteer K-Life intern while studying at Truman. Harrison has served at Kanakuk Kamps in Branson, Missouri for five summers as a camp counselor.  He is known for his passion in impacting the next generation to be leaders for Christ in their schools, in their community and in their homes. Harrison is married to Chelsea Brandel and they have daughter Charlie. He is the son of Ron & Monnie Harrison of Kirksville.
