KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- It's a big story, a big sound, and big production. The Living Christmas Tree production at the First Baptist Church will be held December 8 and 9.
It's an inter-church production that includes singing, dancing and much more.
The minister of music at the church, Ernest Motley tells us it's a community-wide event.
"We are actually collaborating with the dance studio in Kirksville, we're going to have about 30 dancers joining us for that, we'll have a nativity scene as part of the program, they'll be some drama, a little Christmas celebration going on during the presentation. It's a big production and obviously on a big platform. It's going to hold 65 vocalists in our choir," said Motley.
The production began back in the late 1980's and for a number of years it was presented on a wood structure. This year will be the first year it's presented on an all-steel structure.
The show times are Saturday evening at 7 and again Sunday morning at 10:45 and in the evening at 6. Doors will open 45 minutes prior to the presentation.
