Pauline Peterson 87, passed away late Friday night, November 30, 2012, at her home in rural Greentop.

The daughter of Ernest and Jennie (Silver) West, she was born December 18, 1924 in Hannibal, MO. On June 1, 1947 she was united in marriage to Dr. Monte Peterson. They were married for 56 years before he preceded her in death June 24, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Mildred Vaughn.

Pauline is survived by her son, Timothy Ray Peterson and wife Tammy of Jefferson City, MO; her daughter, Cynthia Ann Snider and husband Clayton Bruce of Queen City, MO; her grandchildren, MacKenzie Peterson of Fulton, MO, Cody Snider and wife Holly of Queen City, MO and Jacob Snider and Chelsie Blessing of Queen City, MO; step grandchildren, Brian Mitchell of Meta, MO, Mandy Fast of California, MO and Marie Helton of Westphaila, MO; eight great grandchildren, Joslynn Snider, Morgan Mitchell, Isaac Mitchell, Abigail Fast, Taylor Fast, Somer Fast, Ethan Helton, and Alaina Helton; a nephew, Gene Vaughn and wife Julie of Jefferson City, MO; a niece, Gloria Rouse and husband Robert of Perry, MO; great nieces, great nephews, and several cousins.

Pauline graduated from Perry High School in 1942 and Hannibal-LaGrange College in 1947 with an Associate in Fine Arts. She attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, then graduated from the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri in Kansas City with a BA in Music Education in 1952.

She taught voice and piano at Hannibal-LaGrange College. When she and Monte moved to Belton, MO in 1948 she did substitute teaching in the Belton Public Schools. When her children were older, she became a Social Worker with the Division of Family Services for 19 years in Cass and Adair Counties, retiring in 1985. Pauline and Monte moved to rural Greentop in 1978.

She served in many church related capacities as a minister's wife and helper. She was a charter member of AAUW in Belton where her husband was pastor for 30 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Queen City, Adults on Mission, Retired Missouri State Employees and Schuyler County American Cancer Society. She had several hobbies, tole painting, needlework, crocheting, gardening and loved flowers.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (December 4, 2012) in the Queen City Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Noble officiating. Music will be provided by Jori Noble. Burial will be in the New Harmony Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be MacKenzie Peterson, Brian Mitchell, Jacob Snider, Cody Snider, Larry Keim, and Franklin Wheeler.

Visitation will be Monday (December 3, 2012) from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the
