Daniel Edward Tollenaar
1957 – 2012

Daniel Edward Tollenaar, 54, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday (November 18, 2012) at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of Adelbert Dirk and Juanita Linella (Borron) Tollenaar Jr., he was born December 13, 1957 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Daniel is survived by his father, Del Tollenaar of Kirksville, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Mary Tollenaar of Columbia, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jeff Blakely of Milwaukee, WI, as well as two nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita, and one sister, Patty Tollenaar.

Daniel was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1976. He resided a number of years in Columbia, Missouri, where he was employed as a cook at Ponderosa Steak House and last for the Columbia public schools.

He had a great love for music, played the piano, and enjoyed Nascar, cooking, antique and classic cars, old movies and reading.

Daniel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kirksville.

It was Daniels’ wish to be cremated and a memorial service to honor his life will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday (November 23, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Charles Jackson presiding. Music selections “All The Way My Savior Leads Me” and “When I Survey The Wondrous Cross”, will be provided by Jane Jackson who will be accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist.

Family will receive friends on Friday (November 23, 2012) one hour before the memorial service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army of Kirksville. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
