Jerry Lee Buck, 69 of Kirksville passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning (October 31, 2012) at his home.
    
The son of Virgil and Reva (Feigley) Buck, he was born January 26, 1943 in Gifford, MO. On December 26, 1964 he married the love of his life Eva Morris at Gifford, MO.
    
Jerry is survived by his wife, Eva; one son, John Buck and wife Angie of Kirksville; one daughter, Jennifer Rice and husband Tom of Kirksville; two grandsons, Austin Thompson and Tanner Buck; one brother, Ronnie Buck and wife Mary Ann of Ottumwa, IA; three nephews, Russell Buck and wife Tonja of Story City, IA, Richard Buck of Kearney, NE and Landon Buck of Ottumwa, IA and several great nieces and nephews.
    
He was preceded in death by his parents.
    
Jerry went to work for Gillaspy and Baldwin Implement Company the day after his son was born September 21, 1965 and continued to work for John Deere until his passing.  He won many awards and trips thru John Deere for efficiency in parts sales.  He had been semi-retired the past 7 years only working 3 or 4 days a week but didn’t want to quit working altogether because he really enjoyed his work and the people he dealt with on a day to day basis.
    
He loved spending time with his family. His hobbies included collecting guns and John Deere memorabilia, trap shooting and hunting with his son and grandsons. Jerry was a lover of being outdoors and life in general. He always had a smile and a joke for you. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
    
He was a member of the Illinois Bend Church where he served on the board and was an Elder for the church. 
    
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (November 3, 2012) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend John Davison officiating. Burial will be in the Chariton Grove Cemetery east of Gifford, MO.
    
Pallbearers will be Blaine Harvey, Jody Farris, Bill Frazee, Glen Johnson, Paul LaFaver, Randy Yos, Robert Craggs and Pat Kriegshauser. Honorary bearers will be Tanner Buck, Austin Thompson, Greg Gabriel and Galen Gabriel.
    
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (November 2, 2012) at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
