Fonda Lorene Davis 87 of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Queen City, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at University Hospital in Columbia.
    
The daughter of William E. and Mabel W. (Dixon) Buckallew, she was born November 21, 1924 in Unionville, Missouri.
    
On July 9, 1944, in Unionville, Missouri she was married to Bert C. Davis who preceded her in death.  Also preceding her are her parents, one son, Charles Davis, one granddaughter, Sara Davis, one great-granddaughter, Cassidy Perry, one sister, Nadine Anders, and two brothers, Raymond Buckallew and Gene Buckallew.
    
She is survived by six children, Dr. Roy Davis D.V.M. and wife Sandy of Fulton, MO, William Davis and wife Linda of Independence, MO, Fonda Jane Perry of Columbia, MO, Ann Fitzpatrick and husband Bryan of Columbia, MO, Glenda Blessman and husband David of Columbia, MO, and Clifford Davis and wife Terri of Springfield, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Susan Cardwell, Matthew, Tim, and Tiffany Davis, Jason and Justin Perry, Jennifer Lynch, Richard and Shawna Fitzpatrick, Erik Blessman, Christy Connor, Andrew Davis and Kate Davis; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Delphine Owens, Ilene Anders and husband Kenneth, Phyllis Divley and husband Jerry and Wineva Haas and two brothers; Edward Buckallew and wife Mary and Glen Buckallew and wife Edna and a number of nieces and nephews.
    
Fonda grew up in the Unionville area and attended the Unionville area schools. She worked at the Shoe Factory in Kirksville for a few years. After her marriage she and Bert spent several years in the northeast Missouri area, moving to Queen City in 1970. She spent about ten years in Marathon, Iowa with her second husband, Dale Klatt. In 2000 she moved to Kirksville and in 2007 she moved to Columbia for health reasons.
    
Fonda was a member of the Queen City Baptist Church and past member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a seamstress and had a quilting business. She was active in her church, liked gardening, canning and baking. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
    
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Queen City Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Groom officiating. Musical selections will be “Precious Lord” and “In the Garden” sang by Joyce Clay accompanied by Jori Noble. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery.
    
Pallbearers will be Steve Golston, Dr. Jim Brummitt D.V.M., Brian Buckallew, Johnny Buckallew, Kelly Anders, and Gerald Owings.
    
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the church.
