Eva (Pauley) Tipton, 95, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.
 
Eva (Owens) Tipton was born in Jonesville, VA, on July 8, 1915, the daughter of Chester and Katherine (Williams) Owens, who preceded her in death. She married A. K. Pauley in 1937 and he preceded her in death on August 13, 1973.  Eva worked in the shipyards in Maryland during World War II and then settled into the life of a wife and homemaker after the war.  Eva accepted Christ as her Savior in 1946. A.K. was ordained into the gospel ministry in 1952 and the family moved to Oregon to minister to migrant workers in the orchards. They subsequently ministered in several locations throughout the United States.
 
Eva married Donald Tipton on August 6, 1977, and he survives at home in Ft. Madison.  Eva and Donald lived in Raytown, MO, until moving to Ft. Madison in 2004.  Eva was a faithful and gifted teacher and servant of the Lord.  She often taught the Bible in public schools.  She was a good companion and loved to visit in homes for her church.  Her life verse was Galatians 6:14.  She was a member of the Blue Ridge Baptist Temple in Kansas City, MO.
 
Others who survive Eva are her four sons: Bud Spriggs and wife Sharon of Riceville, TN; David Pauley and wife Janet of Urbana, MO; Richard Pauley and wife Phyllis of Donnellson, IA; and Jerry Pauley and wife Marguerite of Boucherville, Quebec, Canada.  Fifteen grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.
 
Eva was also preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Edgar Owens, and two sisters, Lola Mitchum and Mae Owens.
 
Funeral services for Eva Tipton will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Monday, June 4, 2012, at 11:00 with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the Lucerne (MO) Cemetery.
 
Memorials are suggested to the Lucerne Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO  63565.
