Carol Ridgeway, 67, of Livonia, MO, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 7, 2012.
 
Carol Jeannine (Stull) Ridgeway was born July 27, 1944, in the Omaha area of
Putnam County, MO, the daughter of Rex and Juanita (Montgomery) Stull, who preceded her in death.  After attending rural schools in Putnam County she graduated from Unionville High School in 1961. She married Johnny Ridgeway on July 5, 1962, and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1997.
 
Carol and Johnny began married life in Texas where Johnny was stationed in the Army at Ft. Hood.  They moved back to Putnam County in 1963 and to Livonia in 1969.  Carol was a homemaker until her boys were in high school and then she worked for ten years as a nurse’s aide at the Putnam County Care Center.  Ill health forced her to leave that position.
 
Carol was a very giving and loving person.  She drove friends to doctor’s appointments, for shopping, and for other needs. She was actively involved in the Livonia community helping with the Livonia Homecoming for many years.  Carol was also active in the Foodshare Program was well as serving on the local OATS committee.  She enjoyed baking and making candy and canning produce.  Carol was a quilter and had made quilts for each of her grandchildren.  She was a member of Omaha Baptist Church.
 
Those who survive Carol include her three sons, Bill Ridgeway and fiancé Michelle Jackson, of Lancaster, MO, Jim Ridgeway and wife Lana of Kirksville, MO, and Dan Ridgeway and wife Tammy of Jefferson City, MO.  Her grandchildren are Bo Ridgeway, Austin Ridgeway, Lydia Jackson, Sophia McKim, Reid McKim, Allison Ridgeway, Zane Ridgeway, Ian Defries, Danica Ridgeway, and Carson Ridgeway.  Carol is also survived by a brother, Jerry Stull and wife Shirley of Charter Oak, IA, and a sister, Lois Demry of Unionville, MO.
 
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by a grandson, Zach Ridgeway.
 
Funeral services for Carol Ridgeway will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 2:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Kevin Collins will conduct the service with recorded musical selections “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In The Garden.” Casket bearers will be Ronald Blankenship, Phillip Blankenship, David Jonaitis, Bo Ridgeway, Austin Ridgeway, and Ian Defries.  Burial will be at the Hartford Cemetery east of Unionville.
 
Memorials are suggested to the OATS committee and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO  63565.
